PASS Alignments

Field trip experiences at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum (including pre-visit and post-visit activities) as well as Celebrate Oklahoma Voices digital storytelling activities can address a multitude of educational standards including Oklahoma PASS (Priority Academic Student Skills.) These are some of the PASS alignments for these activities.

 

4th Grade

 

Reading/Language Arts:

1.4 - Using Resource Materials to determine unknown words

2 - Fluency

3.2d - Participate in creative responses to text

3.3c - Represent text information in different ways (outlines, timelines and graphic organizers)

3.4b - Compare/contrast 4.3a - Poetry

5.1 - Accessing information

5.2c - Locate, organize and synthesize information

5.2d - Report on findings

 

Writing:

 

1 - Writing Process

2.2 - Write creative stories and poems

3 - Grammar

 

Oral Language

2.1 - Speak accurately and articulately before a group

2.3 - Use traditional structures for conveying information

3 - Group interaction

 

 

Visual Literacy:

3 - Compose visual messages

 

 

Science:

Process Standard 2 - Classify/arrange objects (in this case photos)

 

 

Social Studies:

1.1 - Demonstrate ability to use research materials

1.2 - Construct timelines of events

1.3 - Identify and give examples of different perspectives and points of view
